Tomorrow, a brand new season will get underway in Pokémon GO, and developer Niantic has already given us a quick tease as to what we should expect.
It'll be called the 'Season of Heritage', and as any Pokémon fans reading will likely pick up on themselves, the art and wording appear to be hinting towards a Pokémon Legends: Arceus tie-in. With that game (which will take players on a journey through the Sinnoh region's past) launching on Switch in January, it's certainly the right time for such an event.
The Season of Heritage will kick off at 10am local time tomorrow, 1st December (thanks, Eurogamer), and while details on what it'll contain haven't yet been revealed, it's easy to take a guess at what could be present.
It's possible that the new season could bring with it some Hisuian Pokémon (new forms of old favourites that are set to appear in Legends: Arceus) or perhaps even Arceus itself, a Mythical Pokémon that – according to in-game lore – is the creator of the entire Pokémon universe.
We'll see for ourselves tomorrow, but until then, feel free to let us know what you hope to see in the comments below.

Tbh that tower to the left reminds me more of Johto
I wish when they revisit Johto someday, that they would reimagine the whole region to resemble Kyoto more.
@mariomaster96
Johto and Sinnoh have a historic link through the Sinjoh Ruins, a very special place tying descendants of the two regions, and being connected to Arceus.
The significance of the Sinjoh ruins might be futher explored in Legends Arceus, or maybe even Pokémon Go.

I'd prefer Legends Arceus ^^

Me too, but Pokémon Go is a huge part of the franchise now whether we like it or not.
It's how Meltan and Melmetal debuted, not in in any main-line game, but in a spin-off.
@Ulysses They would only be tarnishing the legacy of the masterpieces that are HeartGold and SoulSilver with another mediocre release. This most recent generation of Pokemon is actually cursed lol.
A season that will last longer than one week at last!
That's actually mount silver in the logo.as evidenced by the tin tower on the side
soooo, Arceus will finally be in pogo?
@raygboyd333
Probably yeah.
There's a chance they planned it sooner, but EX raids were disabled for some time due to lockdown.
The other thing to consider was that Arceus has 18 different forms, one for each type.
They just recently introduced a form change mechanic, Pokémon like Furfrou and Hoopa make use of it.
Arceus will almost certainly use it too, which is far preferable to the previous possibility of having to hunt down and catch all the different possible types.
@RupeeClock technically several "gen 4" pokemon appeared in PMD before Diamond and pearl released in japan.
@kopaka season of mischief had a story event that spanned 3 months. .
Ooh nice. I’ve been getting back into Go lately so this is perfect timing
@Dilly-Mick
Sure, I suppose Munchlax showed up in PMD before gen IV's release.
The first PMD game also had statues for Bonsly, Weavile, and Lucario. These particular Pokémon were also featured in one of the movies, Lucario and the Mystery of Mew.
@RupeeClock and meltan was featured in the alola anime...
@RupeeClock 100%, also it would be nice if they just let the older ones do this as well, Kyurem, Darmanitan, Giratina. Melotta. remember how they did pokemon that needed to traded to evolve and they brought that back for the rest of the old pokes that needed this to evolve? fingers crossed
