Video: Nintendo Shows Off The World Of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

So far I'm kind of preferring the original soundtrack, though I'll still give the new one a shot. And since there's a 0 BP, 1 coin badge to use the original soundtrack anyway not like it's a huge deal.

Can't wait to dive in once again! Being able to switch between old and new OST is great too!

I like the new Rogueport theme. There's been some arguments over whether or not the music team went TOO hard on the rearrangements, and to an extent, I get it, you do lose something in the new instrumentation, but I also don't mind because the new arrangements are still...good. And given that there's a 1-coin badge to switch to the old music, it's pretty much just that two cakes picture. Even if they have their own strengths and weaknesses, they're still both great in their own ways.

Given the last couple efforts for this series soundtracks I am very confident in how they are going to rearrange these. Color splash and Origami are insanely good in that regard.

The music is good. I like fun and uplifting tracks. And the locations look very atmospheric.

If there is missable stuff in the game, I would like to make two playthroughs. One with the old and one with the new soundtrack.

How do we feel about the purple and red bridge now just being red (gasp!)?

Really starting to consider taking a day off for this game. Getting some drinks, snacks and just play until I drop. Did a similar thing with Mario 3D allstars, just a party for one (easier in lockdown times) and it was surprisingly wonderful.

I've only ever played the paper mario game Origami King, which I loved.. so have heard it on good testimony I'll like this. Just hoping Target do a good pre order bonus 🙏

@Jhena I think the only missable things in the original are some stray items you only get one chance to pick up that aren't anything important and the tattle logs for enemies that only appear as summoned back-up mid-fight. Everything else can be gotten even if you initially miss it, and that second one just seems like a glitch or oversight.

So many times I almost pulled the trigger on a ridiculously expensive copy on the GameCube.

Glad I held out and will finally be playing this on my Switch. I feel like people have been telling me to play this game for 20 years

Nintendo, stop making it so hard not to watch more footage of this game! I want to go in as blind as I can! I mean I've already played the original so I already know the story but I want to discover all the new changes/additions myself as much as I can.

It's good to see Nintendo promoting this game so much though, as it rightfully deserves. I'm so stoked for this one.

This game looks great! Good job Nintendo and IS! I love both the new and and old soundtrack, I'm sure I'll be using both!

Can this game be recommended to somebody who is not into turn-based RPGs? Or do these fights make up the majority of the game?

@Duffman92 The fights do take up a large chunk of the game. Personally I’m not the hugest fan of RPGs, but the Mario ones (especially this one) are really good in my opinion.

I have a strange feeling; the new Rogueport composition sounds amazing fully orchestrated, but I almost wonder if it's too bombastic for a hub world. I love listening to it, but the OG track was a bit more dialed back. Maybe I'm complaining about nothing.
